“Hrvatski ponos '10/1” Exercise

MOD State Secretary Pjer Simunovic and Deputy Chief of General Staff Rear Admiral Zdenko Simicic together with their associates attended the final part of the "Hrvatski ponos (Croatian Pride) '10/1" military exercise.

The exercise, conducted at the "Gašinci" military training ground, was launched on January 18, as the first exercise in Croatia that have been planned and structured in accordance with NATO Exercise Guidelines. The aim of the exercise was the final training and certification of readiness of the 15th CAF Contingent for the ISAF mission in Afghanistan.

The exercise was organized by the Army and directed by Brigadier General Mladen Mikolcevic. The largest contribution to its organization and implementation was given by the Army’s Guard Armoured Mechanized Brigade.

The completion of the exercise is planned for January 29, when the Army’s and CAF GS evaluation teams will give their final assessment of readiness for the mission.
The Contingent, with his Commander Colonel Berislav Jezidzic, will be sent in Afghanistan in late February.
